Outcome Report of UNFCCC SB44 Side Event in Bonn, Germany

“The Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM): Achievements and current progress of projects implementation”

Japan and 16 partner countries are cooperatively developing and implementing the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), which is one of international market based mechanisms in active operation. The recent progress, achievements and expectations on the implementation of the JCM was reported and discussed. A framing presentation was given by Mr. Niclas Svenningsen from the UNFCCC to share the updates on UNFCCC discussions on market mechanisms. The event was attended by around 30 participants including but not limited to government officials and experts.

OECC and IGES hosted an exhibition booth and display the recent information related to the JCM and its supporting programmes. The electronic publications were uploaded in the UNFCCC website.
