Overview

At the COP19 held in Warsaw, Poland, Mr. Ishihara the Minister of the Environment of Japan convened a meeting with countries which signed the bilateral document for the JCM. The meeting was attended by the representatives from all the signatory countries. Mr. Ishihara announced the Government of Japan’s strong commitment for promoting projects for the JCM through the various schemes, and at the same time expressed his intention to double the signatory countries in 3 years. The room was full of audiences. The representatives from the signatory countries also gave their strong support and positive remarks for mitigation actions for combatting climate change through the JCM. The meeting brought integrity among participants and fostered strong momentum for further promotion of the JCM.
