Kenya: Introduction of Solar PV System at Salt Factory [Pacific Consultants Co., Ltd.]
2017.09.12
Pleasant nature, abundance of sunlight, clean air. By taking advantage of this rich natural environment, one of East Africa’s largest Solar PV system (1MW) has been introduced as a JCM model project in a salt production plant owned by Krystalline Salt Limited in Malindi, the Southeastern Kenya.
Compared to the combination of conventional grid power system and private diesel generators, energy saving and reduction of CO2 emissions are realized by hybrid operation of controller installed solar power generation system, grid generation system and diesel private generators. With this system, it is possible to deliver the necessary stable electric power to the factory.
Krystalline Salt Limited as a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through this project.
