Public Hearing (-June 13) and Explanatory Webinar (June 7) for Draft JCM Methodology for AWD in the Philippines

The Expert Committee (EC) for developing Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) for Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), led by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the government of Japan (JMAFF), together with ASEAN participating countries such as the Philippines and Viet Nam and well-established research institutes, aims to gather public input on the draft methodology in the Philippines, prior to the public consultation by the JCM Joint Committee (JC) between the Philippines and Japan.

This draft would be the first JCM methodology in agricultural sector if approved by JC.

1. Public Hearing

• Period: May 30 to June 13, 2024 (15 days)
• Materials: JCM methodology for AWD in the Philippines, Appendix A, Appendix B, and Appendix C
• How to comment: please send your comments (in English) to maff_jcmtml@maff.go.jp

*This public hearing is conducted as one of the ADB EC's drafting process, and not on JCM JC's formal public input process.
