Our new Column on the JCM starts now!

Japan is implementing the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) in order to contribute to global GHG emission reduction. The Historic “Paris Agreement” was adopted last year and the use of market mechanisms including the JCM was articulated under Article 6 of the Agreement.

This page will introduce JCM projects in the world which contribute to the promotion of worldwide low-carbonization.

<Why the JCM?>
The threat of Climate change is becoming more and more serious and it is necessary to drastically reduce GHG emission such as CO2. In addition to domestic measures, Japan is implementing the JCM with partner developing countries to reduce GHG emission.

Now that there are 16 partner countries in the world, Japan is promoting dissemination of leading low-carbon technologies through the JCM.
